Help in Stopping Junk E-Mail!
As you all know junk email is on the rise. Most of us dislike
Unsolicitated Commercial Email (UCE, AKA Spam). We at Faynet have
researched and tested several methods for our customers to use in combating
junk mail. There are two effective methods of removing junk mail from your
account(s).
Method 1: IMAIL message processing rules.
1. Using your web browser, i.e. Internet Explorer, type in the
appropriate company Email server URL (mail.apcnet.com, mail.faynet.com, or
mail.netquick.net) in your address/location bar and press enter
2. Log on to IMAIL with your user name and password
3. Select "Change Processing Rules"
4. Select "Add" to create a rule to apply to incoming messages;
5. Set up the standards you wish to implement. Caution: Be careful on
the search criteria as this will apply to any incoming message. Some rules
I use are:
If body contains "remove yourself" then send to folder "Delete";
If body contains "unsubscribe" then send to folder "Delete";
This method uses the Mail Server to remove junk mail from your
accounts.
Method 2: Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express message processing rules.
1. In Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express select "Tools" from the menu
bar
2. Select "Rules Wizard" or "Message Rules" If you do not have either
selection you may need to upgrade your email client.
3. Select "New" and select the appropriate options for filtering mail
This method has more flexibility and tools to handle junk mail.
In either case be careful on the search criteria and the handling of
e-mail. We are not responsible for lost email or rules that are set up on
the mail servers.
